Robert Pease was born on 28 October 1589 in Great Baddow, Essex, England. He was baptized on 28 October 1589 in Saint Mary's Parish Church at Great Baddow, Essex County, England. He was the son of Robert Pease The Locksmith and Margaret King. He married Lydia West on 2 December 1628 in Widford, Essex, England.3 He married Marie French circa 1633.4,5 Robert immigrated from Ipswitch to Salem, New England aboard the ship Francis in 1634. He was accompanied by his brother John and eldest son, Robert. His wife and other members of the family including his son John and his mother Margaret probably came in a later ship the same year. He died before 27 August 1644 in Salem, Essex County in the Massachusetts Colony.

Robert Pease is supposed to have been the son of Robert and Margaret Pease of Great Baddow, Essex County, England. He received a grant of land at Salem, Mass., in 1637 and resided there until his death. His mother joined the First Salem Church in 1639. Robert joined it in 1643 and three of his children were baptized at that time. There is no record as to when his wife died; she was alive at the time of his death according to his will. His mother died in 1644.

John Pease was born on 11 February 1631/32 in England.3 He was the son of Robert Pease and Lydia West.2 John immigrated to Salem, New England aboard the ship Francis in 1634 from Ipswich, Suffolk County, England. He married Mary Goodell, daughter of Robert Goodell and Catharine Kilham, 1653 in Salem, Essex County in the Massachusetts Colony. He married Ann Cummings, daughter of Issac Cummings, on 8 December 1669 in Topsfield, in the Massachusetts Colony.4,5 He died on 8 July 1689 in Enfield, Hartford County in the Connecticut Colony.

John Pease appears to have been a favorite of his grandmother Margaret Pease, as shown by her will which was brought into court soon after action was taken in the settlement of his father's estate. It seems probable that he may have been adopted by his grandmother before his fathers death. She doubtless had full authority for placing him in the care of Thomas Watson, to dispose of him as his own child, rendering it unnecessary for the court to take any action on his custody, as in the case of his older brother.

John was a yoeman when he settled in that part of Salem called "Northfields". His name was mentioned frequently in the Essex County and Salem Town records as grantee and grantor of deeds, as a witness, as an overseer of wills, as a constable, and etc. He was made a freeman 29 April 1668 and took the oath before the County court 30 June 1668. He was called "Captain" John Pease. He joined the First Church at Salem on 4 July 1667. It is believed that he, with his two oldest sons John and Robert, went to what is now called Enfield in 1679, living the first winter in an excavation in the side of a hill about 40 rods from where the first meetinghouse stood On 23 July 1680 John and his two eldest sons had land granted to them. He sold his property in Salem in 1682. When they moved to Fresh Water Brook it was still a part of Springfield, Mass., in 1681 Enfield was established and became a part of Connecticut. The area is about 2.5 miles east of what is now called Thompsonville, CT. He sickened while making preparations for building, and died suddenly. This was 10 days after his wife died and the day before one of his daughters died.

Isaac Pease settled in the northeastern part of Enfield CT, not far from what in 1869 was called the Shaker Village, shortly after he married. He appears to have been an extensive landholder, and was among the first holding the office of Deacon in the congregational church of that town. "His grave and tombstone are to be seen in good condition in the burying-ground north of the central meetinghouse in Enfield." (1869 quote).

Cummings Pease was born on 15 November 1715 in Enfield, Hartford County in the Connecticut Colony. He was the son of Issac Pease and Mindwell Osborn. He married Elizabeth Pease, daughter of John Pease and Elizabeth Spencer, 1737 in Enfield, Hartford County in the Connecticut Colony.2 He married Sarah Hale on 25 September 1755 in Springfield, Hampden County in the Massachusetts Colony.3,4 He died 1808 in East Longmeadow, Hampden County, Massachusetts.

Deacon Cummings Pease had a farm on Fresh Water Brook, about 2.5 miles east of what was Thompsonville, CT in 1869. "He became the subject of hopeful piety when about 30 years of age, and after a long and painful struggle in his mind about a practical duty in making a profession, he yielded to his conviction of scriptural teaching, and, notwithstanding he stood alone in his views, was immersed upon the profession of his faith. This was the beginning of a Baptist church in the east part of Enfield, of which he was Deacon. This church continued until broken up by the movement of the Shakers in that part of the town." Note that his first marriage was to his first cousin.

Ebenezer Pease was born on 23 December 1748 in Enfield, Hartford County in the Connecticut Colony. He was the son of Cummings Pease and Elizabeth Pease. He married Rebecca Hill, daughter of John Hills and Deliverance Craw, 1771 in Longmeadow, Hampden County in the Massachusetts Colony. His wife Rebecca died before 1837. He died circa 1840 in Georgia, Franklin County, Vermont.

Ebenezer Pease first settled in Longmeadow, MA, and soon after the Revolutionary war left that place and ultimately settled in Vermont. He was in the regular Continental Army during the war. He was a devoted professor of the Christian faith, having embraced religion in early youth. He was baptized and became a member of a Baptist church at the age of 18 years. He was living with one of his daughters in Georgia, VT in 1819 according to his pension records but it is not known which one.

Statement by Ebenezer Peas on 13 July 1820: REVOLUTIONARY CLAIM, under the Act of Congress May 1, 1820 Ebenezer Peas, Aged 71 years, Resident - Georgia, Vt. "I served three years from the year 1777 to the year 1780 in Captain Coburn's Company, in Colonel Alden's Regiment, Nixon's Brigade, Massachusetts Line. My original declaration is dated April 27th 1818 and my pension certificate #11,333. I have no other income other than that what is contained in the schedule hereto annexed and by me subscribed:
40 acres of land in Fairfax for which there is due one hundred dollars being a part of the purchase money for the payment of the land. Also, I am under obligation to give to my son, Abel Pease, the title to said land on his paying me twenty four dollars annually during my natural life. He has expended large sums and been at considerable expense in taking care of me and my wife for which he has an additional claim to the land besides that which is above stated. One cow, 5 sheep, one three pail kettle one pail do., one pewter kettle, one small broken pot, one pair hand irons, one spider, two old chairs, one old table, two platters, one old pewter platter.

I am by occupation a farmer but by reason of age and debility, I am not able to labour, have no family under my care, live with my son in law, and owe as much as I have due to me." (Attested to by Horace Jones, Clerk, Court Franklin Co., Vt.)

He was at the Capture of Burgoyne and in the battles immediately preceding and in the battle with the indians at Cherry Valley. Served until March or April 1780 when he was permitted to leave because of his family. He procured a man to serve in his place for the remainder of the time so he did not obtain a discharge at the time of expiration of his term. He received a pension of $8 per month commencing 27 April 1818.

Chauncey O. Pease was born on 26 September 1825 in Georgia, Franklin County, Vermont. He was the son of Abel Pease and Lucy F. Laughlin. He married Arvilla E. Adams, daughter of George Washington Adams and Sabra Streeter, on 1 January 1849 in Lawrence, Nassau County, New York.4 Chauncey and Arvilla were divorced on 15 August 1877 in Lawrence, Nassau County, New York. He died 1886 in Richmond Twp, Macomb County, Michigan. He was buried in Woodland Cemetery in Reed City, Osceola county, Michigan.

Chauncey O. Pease was a private in the Civil war, serving in the New York State Volunteers, 60th Regiment, Co I. Chauncey enrolled along with two nephews Cyrus M. Pease and Nelson H. Pease, sons of his brother Samuel. Following are some of the places they served:1862 May 28-29 Harper's Ferry, Sep 17 Antietam, Dec 11-15 Fredericksburg, Va; 1863: Jul 1-3 Gettysburg, Pa, Oct 28-29 Wauhatchie, Tn, Nov 23 Chattanooga, Tn, Nov 24 Lookout Mtn, Tn; 1864: May 5-7 Wilderness, Va, May 8-21 Spotsylvania, Va; 1865: Mar 28-Apr 9 Appomattox, Va, Apr 26 Bennett House, NC.
The company was honorably discharged and mustered out 17 July 1865 at Alexandria, Va.

Records of the divorce from Arvilla Adams state that due to Chauncey's infidelities Arvilla Pease was free to marry as if he were dead, but that Chauncey was not free to marry again until after the death of Arvilla. The minor children George, Ida and Sarah were to be in their mother's care and Chauncey was not to contact them. Apparently Chauncey fathered two boys by Emma Warneke out of wedlock (they were born before his divorce). He is shown in the 1880 census as living in Reed City Michigan with Emma and the two boys.

According to LeRoy Cleaveland, Chauncey kidnapped Sadie Pease and brought her to Reed City, MI.
