     Ebenezer Pease was born on 20 August 1773 in Longmeadow, Hampden County, the Massachusetts Bay Colony, which at that time was part of the of the Province of Massachusetts Bay. He was the son of Ebenezer Pease and Rebecca Hill. Ebenezer lived in Brasher, New York.

     Horatio N. Pease was born on 14 October 1813 in Canada. He was the son of Abel Pease and Lucy F. Laughlin. He died in March 1882 Chicago, Cook, Illinois.3 He was buried on 11 March 1882 in Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, Cook county, Illinois.4 Horatio lived in Chicago with his wife Minerva. There is a mystery as to why she identified herself as a widow in the 1858-60 Chicago city directories while he was actually living in California during that period.5
