     Anargiros Pandeleon Patellis was born on 13 March 1934 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Pandeleon Patellis and Sophia Liapies. He married Joann Marie Ledonne, daughter of Peter Ledonne and Clara Anna Castagna, on 7 June 1958 in Clairton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He died on 6 May 1987 in Hockessin, New Castle County, Delaware. He was buried in Silverbrook Cemetery in Wilmington, New Castle county, Delaware.

Anargiros (which is "silver" in greek, which accounts for his nick-name of "Sil") grew up in Clairton, PA. He attended Penn State, where he was awarded the degree of B.S. in Chemistry. He worked for Pennsylvania Industrial Chemical Corporation (PICO), starting as a bench chemist and working up to becoming Vice President for Research and Development by the time PICO was purchased by Hercules Chemical Corporation in 1974. He was plant manager in Clairton for 12 years. Transferred to Wilmington, DE in 1985 to take the Hercules position of World-wide Business Director for Hydrocarbon Resins. In 1990 Hercules dedicated a large hydrocarbon research center, built on the grounds of the old PICO plant, to him. He held 17 patents. He held the position of President of the Bell Vernon School Board for a time, was an avid golfer and painted in oils.
