     There is a tombstone in the Dove area for a Robert O. Dove, according to the Steben Cemeteries source, with the death date of 23 January 1877, suggesting that he died during the civil war. The age at death suggests that the "1877" was misread and should be 1867, and that this stone may mark the burial place of Jason Dove's son Robert as reported in the 1860 census. Robert Dove was born on 2 November 1845.2,3 He was the son of Jason Dove and Emma A. Griffin. He died on 13 April 1866. He was buried in Flint, Steuben county, Indiana.

     It is interesting that according to the tombstone inscription while Isaac was 12 years old at the time of the 1860 census his name does not appear there in the Dove houshold. Isaac Dove was born on 18 February 1848. He was the son of Jason Dove and Emma A. Griffin. He died on 31 January 1863 in Steuben County, Indiana. He was buried in Flint Cemetery in Flint, Steuben county, Indiana.

     Philip Royer was born. He married Elizabeth Schneider, daughter of Henry Schneider, circa 1746 in near Lancaster, the Pennsylvania Colony.2

Philip received his farm, 140 acres, from his father on October 1, 1768. He later bought other land: a farm in Leacock township, onto which his son Jonathan later moved. His estate was settled by his sons Abraham, Philip and Johathan.
