     Marilyn Joyce Hartz was born on 17 October 1929 in Glendive, Dawson County, Montana.2 She was the daughter of Rudolph Hartz and Myrtle Beatrice Shorey. She married Kenneth Smith in 1947 in California. Her husband Kenneth died in 1965. She married Charles Nelson Reitan on 23 September 1966. Marilyn and Charles were divorced in January 1968. She died on 11 October 1993 in New London, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.2
