I believe the Elizabeth Hernly married to our Philip Royer is incorrect. The Hernly family arrived too late for a Christian Hernley to be a farmer in Lancaster in the early 1700's. I believe they made a mix up because Philip Royer jr. married Elizabeth Hernley the daughter of Christian Hernley. I have their line at my site too. Philip Royer Sr. did marry an Elizabeth and those are her dates as we know from her tombstone, but I do not believe it was a Hernley. The Royer book from which this information was taken claims Philip jr. married an Elizabeth Unknown. It seems he got them mixed up. Outside of this book there is no record for these individuals. The Hernley researchers believe they do not exist either. The Royer people will not budge. I think I am going to change it at my site, I feel that certain about it. Mike |
