Mrs. Solomon Gates died at the home of her sister, Mrs. P. P. Miner of Brant, Sept 21st after a lingering illness.
Delia A. Littlefield was born on Pretty Prairie in LaGrange Co., Ind., Sept. 12, 1840, was married to Thomas Burnell, Sept 14, 1862. To this union one child, a son, was born, who preceded his mother to the spirit world, from his home in California in Oct. 1910. In Sept. 1882 Mrs. Burnell was married to A. Judson Corbin of Angola, Ind., who died in 1896.
Mrs. Corbin held the position of telegraph operator and ticket agent in the Angola office for 20 consecutive years, after which she took up the study of electricity and opened a sanitarium in her home in Angola where she successfully treated the sick for many years. In April 1906 she moved from Angola to Brant township, to spend he declining years near her sister, Mrs. P. P. Miner.
On July 4, 1906 she was united in marriage to Solomon Gates of St. Charles, who survives her. A noble woman, a useful citizen who has met lifes vicissitudes bravely, she has gone to her well earned rest, in peace.
The funeral was held from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. P. P. Miner, Tuesday, Rev. Hanks, of Oswego, officiating. Interment in Brant cemetery.
