     Lucy Fitch was born circa 1698 in Norwich, New London County in the Connecticut Colony. She was the daughter of James Fitch and Alice Bradford. She married Henry Cleaveland, son of Josiah Cleaveland and Mary Bates, on 19 March 1718/19 in Canterbury, Windham County in the Connecticut Colony.2,3 She died after 1761 in Mansfield, Tolland County in the Connecticut Colony.

     Evelyn Mae Pease was born on 13 April 1932 Reed City, Osceola County, Michigan. She is the daughter of George 'Owen' Pease and Mildred Lucile Dempkey. She married Harm Kremers on 14 May 1951 Grandville, Kent County, Michigan. Evelyn and Harm were divorced in August 1969 Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan. She married Jack Elton Sawyer on 14 December 1974 Hudsonville, Ottawa County, Michigan.
Evelyn is an active genealogist, and was the source of much of the material on the Pease family appearing in this document. Her material is much more complete, and persons interested in that area of the family are encouraged to contact her directly. In 1989 Mrs. Sawyer was living at 4261_Barry_St., Hudsonville,_MI_49426.

     George Lincoln Pease was born on 30 October 1861 Brookdale, St. Lawrence County, New York.3,4,5 He was the son of Chauncey O. Pease and Arvilla E. Adams. He married Carrie Elizabeth Chase on 10 March 1883 Reed City, Osceola County, Michigan.6 He died on 17 May 1948 Saint Bernard's Hospital, Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, of uremia.7 He was buried in Jarrett Cemetery in Maynard, Randolph county, Arkansas.

In 1880 the census shows George living with his mother and stepfather in Nashua, New Hampshire and occupied "in candy shop" - he was 18 at the time. Shortly after his 1883 marriage George went with his wife Carrie back to Nashua to take care of his mother before she died. After her death, they stayed there a few more years, moving to Richmond Township after his father's death to farm the 40 acres that his father had purchased. Sometime about 1911 George and Carrie separated. The children and Carrie lived in Reed City for a while. In 1913 they moved to Corning, AR, and then shortly to Maynard, AR. George was visiting his family in Maynard when he died, and so is buried there. George's farm included the "sugarbush" mentioned in various stories of Earl and Jerome Cleaveland.8

     Carrie Elizabeth Chase was born on 2 November 1866 Middle Branch, Osceola County, Michigan. She married George Lincoln Pease, son of Chauncey O. Pease and Arvilla E. Adams, on 10 March 1883 Reed City, Osceola County, Michigan.1 Her husband George died on 17 May 1948.2 She died on 26 June 1962 Sikeston, Scott County, Missouri.

     He was buried in Reed City, Osceola county, Michigan. George 'Owen' Pease was born on 14 February 1897 Richmond Twp, Macomb County, Michigan. He was the son of George Lincoln Pease and Carrie Elizabeth Chase. He married Mildred Lucile Dempkey on 13 February 1931 Big Rapids, Mecosta County, Michigan.2 He died on 31 October 1960 St. Louis, Missouri. "Owen" worked as a carpenter.
