It is likely the same person; the abstract is the source for the death place; certificate is on order.1,2 He married Mary Ann Dougherty, daughter of Terrance Dougherty and Mary Welsh.1 He died on 12 October 1955.1

     Joseph L. Kleis was born in 1922 in Minnesota.1 He was the son of John Joseph Kleis and Catherine C. Dougherty.1 He died in 1954.1 He had polio as a young man an when he recovered he was sickly and depressed. He eventually took his own life.1
