     Her tombstone incorrectly states that Mary was born on 29 June 1895.2 She was born on 29 June 1896 in Minnesota.1,3 She was the daughter of Terrance Dougherty and Mary Welsh. Mary Ann Dougherty was also known as Mamie.1 She married Manus F. McCarney.1 Her husband Manus died on 12 October 1955.1 She died on 8 July 1974 in Meeker County, Minnesota.2,1 Mary Ann worked for Manus and Elizabeth as their hired girl. Some time after Elizabeth died she married Manus. In the 1920 census of the family, there is a housekeeper listed with the name of Rose; Mary Ann is not listed.4,5

She married Harry Orlando Hartz, son of Carl Johan "Charles" Hartz and Olina Runsberg, circa 1927.5 Her husband Harry died in February 1978.6 She died in November 1982 in Grove City, Meeker County, Minnesota.4
