BENNER -- On June 20, 1891, near California, Bucks County, Pa., Nancy, widow of William Benner, aged 79 years, 18 months and nine days. She was a daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Bean) Rothrock. She was born in Tinicum, August 11, 1811, and later years was received as a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church through the sacrament of baptism, by the Rev. William B. Kemmerer. On February 11, 1829, she was married to William Benner, Rev. William B. Kemmerer performing the ceremony. This union was blessed with twelve children, nine sons and three daughters. One son died. The husband died March 8, 1875. Her sickness was cancer in the stomach, with which she was confined to her bed ten weeks. Eight sons, three daughters, 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren survive. Of a large family she was the last to leave this world. She was a loving and affectionate mother--a true mother in Israel.
