D.R. Ault, Was Retired Yardmaster David R. Ault of 304 N. 2nd Street Lehighton, a retired yardmaster of the Lehigh Valley railroad died yesterday in Gnaden Huetten hospital, Lehighton. He was 68. Prior to retiring in September 1967, he was employed by the rail company for 51 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Jacob M. and Bessy Royer Ault. He resided in Lehighton for 30 years. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Lehighton, and was a member of the church vestry. He was a life member of Lehigh Fire Company 1, Lehighton, and served as institutional representative for Boy Scout Troop 48, Lehighton. Surviving are his widow, the former Isabel V. Sauders; two daughters Phyllis M. wife of Herman Lido of Johnson City Tenn., and Irene F., wife of Lowell Graver of Catasaqua; three sons, Gerald, of Lexington, Md., serving with the Navy; Weston J. of Orlando Fla, and David R. Jr. of Lehighton; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Thornberry of Indiana, Elizabeth, wife of the Rev. M. E. Detterline Sr. of Bangor; Susan, wife of Charles Pederson of Salem, New Jersey; Annetta of Jacksonville Fla. and Ruth wife of Wilson Slotter Jr. of Bethlehem; two brothers, Frank of Allentown and Elmer of Bethlehem; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 AM Wednesday in All Saints Episcopal Church 2nd and Coal Streets, Lehighton. Viewing will be 7 to 9 PM Tuesday in Zimmerman Funeral Home, 215 South 3rd Street Lehighton. |
