Do you want more information on Catherine Kilham or Robert Goodale? What might be useful to your search is Siney Perley's 'History of Salem' Volumn I, II, III. Volumn I on pages 246-252 has a genealogical listing for Robert Goodale and his wife Catherine, including their offspring There is additonal information as to Roberts's land holdings in Salem and some of his activities while as a residient in other sections of this work. As for Catherine, there is a question in my mind as to whether or not she is the daughter of Ralfe or Henry. Or are there two Catherines? My records show Henry Kilham had a daughter named Catherine born 1606 in Dennington, Suffolk, England. This makes her the sister of Austin Kilham, who is considered the progenitor of the American Kilham family or at least the the Kilham family with New England roots versus the Virginia Kelhams. There seems to be a Kilham thing for the Goodales. Henry Kilham was married to Alice Goodale, Katherine his daughter, was married to a Robert Goodale, and Austin's son Lot, married a Hannah Goodale, Catherines daughter. Granted there was not a large sellection of family names to pick from in this period of time, but this is cutting it pretty close. Here are some differences in your information and the information as presented by Perley, plus additional facts: Children of Robert Goodale and Catherine: 1. Mary, b. about 1629; married John Pease. 2. Abraham, b. about 1631. 3. Issac, born about 1633. 4. Elizabeth; married, first John Smith; second Henry Bennett, being the latters widow in 1692. 5. ________, baptized May 31, 1640. Probably Nehemiah. 6. Jacob, baptized January 9, 1641-2. 7. Sarah, married John Bachelder of Wenham May 4. 1666. 8. Hannah, baptized August 6, 1645; married Lot Kilham. 9. Zachariah. Perley's lineage covers the next generations, their marriages, and their children. I am sure you will find this interesting reading plus an addition to your records. Without further information, it appears your Kilham ties end at this point in time with Catherine. I hope this is useful to your search and answers some of your questions. Rick Kilham |
